CAPSTONE PROJECT
IBM WATSON X TOMMY HILFIGER
REIMAGINE RETAIL
Reimagine Retail was a semester long project with the collaboration of FIT’s Dtech Lab, IBM and Tommy Hilfiger. The project was an exploration of AI and its potential improvements to the fashion design chain. IBM’s cognitive tools and Browzwear’s Vstitcher facilitated the concept for the 3D Knit Stoll machine bomber.
3D KNIT BOMBER JACKET
The purpose of the bomber is to showcase the power of IBM’s cognitive tools and highlight the possible exploration AI can encourage in the design process. In purchasing a 3D knit bomber the consumer would have 3 options of customization. The first option would allow customers to “design” the color blocking scheme to their liking. Option two would see the cognitive tools create a jacket using Tommy Hilfiger’s collection database. A third option would be an application centered on consumers' personalization traits. With the information the consumer provides, the AI would create a unique bomber jacket.
WHY TOMMY JEANS?
From the early 90's the Tommy Jeans brand was adopted by a younger urban demographic.
The brand focuses on bold prints and strong color combinations. This is ideal for the bomber
jacket concept. It falls within the Tommy Jeans brand esthetic and allows for customer personalization.
Further research was supported with IBM'S cognitive tools which offered a catalog of Tommy Hilfiger's most recent collections.
